When looking at this this pendant you discover the pools of silver peering through the transparent midnight purple. Necklace is mounted on a sterling silver texutred backplate and can be worn either way with the sterling silver textured plate or the colorful enamel showing. Super cute and versatile.
This enameled piece started out as a hand cut piece of silver. I sifted Vitreous Enamel (pigmented powdered glass) onto the silver, heated with a torch or kiln to 1500 degrees farenheit until the glass melted and adhered to the silver. This process of sifting and firing on both sides of the copper is repeated multiple times for coverage and durable longevity. The edges of the piece are then polished to remove excess enamel and to show the silver edge.
Necklace measures 1 3/8 by 1 5/8 inches and is hung from an 18 inch sterling silver chain.
