This sterling silver necklace was made by using a torch to melt sterling silver to a molten state to form a small ignot. The ignot is then placed on an impression die mold and pressed several times using a 20 ton hydraulic press. The silver impression is removed from the mold and then extensive time is spent cutting, sanding and polishing the silver until desired finish is achieved. A soldered bail and a patina finishes off the piece..
The necklace is 3/4 by 3/4 inches and hangs from a 18 inch sterling silver chain.
