This enameled piece started out as a hand cut piece of copper. I sifted Vitreous Enamel (pigmented powdered glass) onto the copper, heated with a torch or kiln to 1500 degrees fahrenheit until the glass melted and adhered to the copper. This process of sifting and firing on both sides of the copper is repeated multiple times for coverage. The edges of the piece are then polished to remove excess enamel and to show the copper edge.
Necklace measures by 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 inches and is hung from a 17 inch leather cord with a 2 inch copper extender.
