Triangle Enamel Pendant

This stunning riveted sterling silver necklace makes a statement of its own.  The sterling silver backplate was cut out using a hydraulic press, then textured with a hammer. The enamel piece was attached to the backplate with rivets. There was also some soldering involved in attaching the bail.

This enameled piece started out as a hand cut piece of copper.  I sifted Vitreous Enamel (pigm sented powdered glass) onto the copper, heated with a torch or kiln to 1500 degrees farenheit until the glass melted and adhered to the copper.  This process of sifting and firing on both sides of the copper is repeated multiple times for coverage.   The edges of the piece are then polished to remove excess enamel and to show the copper edge.

Necklace measures  by 3 by 2 inches and is hung from a 30 inch sterling silver chain.
