The enameled piece started out as a hand cut piece of copper. I sifted Vitreous Enamel (pigmented powdered glass) onto the copper, heated with a torch or kiln to 1500 degrees farenheit until the glass melted and adhered to the copper. This process of sifting and firing is repeated multiple times for coverage. The edges of the piece are then polished to remove excess enamel and to show the copper edge. Millefiori glass flowers are then placed and torched in the center of the blossom.
The flower measures 1 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches and is hung from a sterling silver chain that adjusts 17-19 inches.
